(no subject)

I just finished watching Rachel Getting Married; I thought it was brillant. I like watching Anne Hathaway; I saw The Devil Wears Prada a few weeks ago on regular TV and thought it was really well acted, the script was a little lame, but highly entertaining. She really shines I think.

This movie dealt with such an agonizingly painful subject, that to even think about it makes me uncomfortable. It was shot so beautifully, by artists who grew up with artists. There is so much freedom, color, realness to it. Little details shown as we see and hear them, everyone's perception is clear to us, also that there is no real solution other than going forward, forgiving over and over, loving. Jonathan Demme directed; two Lumet sisters, Jenny wrote it, Amy was the sound editor. One reviewer wonders if it was anyway autobiographical.

I want that wedding and wedding party to somehow be a part of my life.

Forgiveness, growth, denial, addiction, love, coping; everyday, coping. The multi-culturalism of the wedding and party, I guess, it's who we are in the end.

I know people had trouble liking this movie. I loved it.

I've not heard of this movie. I'll have to look for it. I won't have a DVD until after the move and plan on doing a lot of movie watching to catch up. This sounds like something I would like and appreciate.

at the rate i watch movies, it could be a very long time before you get to talk about it then! ;) seriously though.... i like movies; i just don't seem to watch them all that often. maybe it's the time commitment or something? but in the event that i watch it in the not too distant future, i'll let you know what i think of it. :)

Jonathan Demme has a way of getting deep into characters. I liked Prada, Streep was great, but something about actor Simon Baker annoys me.

I'll Netflix Rachel on your recommendation.
