I also have old hikers from years back that I cannot get rid of. They're worn, the cushioning is gone, the soles have lost all the gripping tread. I have hundreds of miles on them.
I bought them in the early 90's when my son James reached the age for camping, fishing and hiking. They've treaded Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, Arizona and Utah.
I bought new hikers a couple of years back but they barely have a scratch on them. I plan on doing something about that when the weather cools in AZ.
