I've been practicing Bikram yoga for 5 1/2 years and it's a part of my life I don't want to be without. It took a while to reach the stage where I knew I'd be back the next day, week, month, even year. What makes it simpler for me is to do it at 6am. No end of the day excuses, traffic, lack of parking and black makeup smudges on my shins. New people come and go; some stick. A new couple started a couple of weeks ago; he has bleached out hair, aging hipster, she is adorable, wears little pig tails. If either of you ever read this and I'm not sure how you would, know that I think you're cool. What touched me and makes me smile still, happened on their first day. Our last posture is a breathing excercise, breath of fire I believe. The instructor sometimes claps to keep everyone together. Well, as the new woman started breathing, she also clapped a few times before she realized the class doesn't clap while they breathe and her absolute faith and joy in the practice, in herself, in life, just thrilled me.
