May. 10th, 2009 11:12 pmOk, I'm giving in to a little tv geekiness here, but I'm so jazzed that Joan Rivers won Celebrity Apprentice. I was somewhat indifferent to her, before this, not a huge fan of hers, but I became one during the run of the show.
74 years old! Great business skills and instincts; she is sharp, very intelligent, and of course, hilarious. She loves people, her heart is enormous. She didn't miss a beat even at her age, energy wise.
She was also over the top emotionally and way too defensive of her daughter, and let it rip in the boardroom. Because she's 74! She can! Trump chose her over the brilliant Annie, cool, smart, able to raise more money than any of the others.
I think Joan was on to something when she said that Annie represented the "old" way of doing business, yes, brilliant, but ruthless, cold, will stab anyone in the back to win. And Joan just says it to your face and moves on.
Of course I was totally supportive of her attitude towards the designer who eventually quit. He was working for her and not coming through. In light of my past experience, I couldn't wait to see how that played out.
Very educational all this was. Group work, hard.
It was all very interesting. Congrats Joan. And WOW, I love her charity, God's Love.
Of course tomorrow, I will be smart, detached and light, I am not Joan Rivers.
