I watched '7 Pounds' tonight after reading dadadadio's post on it. Thanks for posting your thoughts about it, I loved it.
I found it almost agonizingly suspensful. They created such a world of tension and sadness, I didn't know where it was going and I liked how it kept me thinking, trying to fit the pieces together, which I didn't complete until the very end. It's rare to get a movie that unfolds so slowly, I watched the specal features and saw the director is French which probably explains it. Will Smith was a revelation. I have unjustly characterized him as always being the happy go lucky, hero, charmer type, that I thought he played in most of his movies. He does seem charming, but in this movie, he is transformed by grief, almost unrecognizable sometimes. I'd say I'm a fan now. Bravo.
Heat wave today. Escaped to Alameda with a friend when the apartment hit 100, it was a bit cooler out there with the sea breeze. We wandered around the shops until the canned AC chilled me to the very bone, it was glorious. Did my grocery shopping too. My budget is tight the next couple weeks.
It's all ready in the 60 degrees and getting cooler. It's staying in the 60's tomorrow. Sister is coming over and we're going to the Eat Real Festival in Jack London Square. It's the first year for this event, can't wait to see how it is. I've heard good things about it so far.
It was just like at the movies here. I ate a lot of popcorn and too much chocolate. Long Live Saturday Nights!
