It feels like the 30th day in a row waking to gloomy chill skies as summer peaks. I might as well live on the western edge of San Francisco for what this summer has been like. The sun should show itself in a few or several hours, hopefully.

Oakland is usually touted for its perfect climate. The fog on the coast as it crosses the bay dissipates to cool energizing fresh air tempered by blue skies and sunshine. Not this summer. It really does play havoc with moods. It feels endless, gloomy, sad and bleak. Well, I do.

Inventory is adding up: extra large zip-lock bags (2' by 1'7"), flashlights, particle masks, goggles. We're having our Burning Man Confab next Monday afternoon. The guy all ready seems a little overly chatty for my tastes, hopefully he's just excited. My friend said she's all ready stated we have different goals there, so I imagine we cement more firmly next week and hopefully emerge as jolly independent camp-mates.

I'm working today, I'm covering a press conference with kids explaining why they don't want the daycare centers closed then to a school board meeting, then write it up tonight. I don't feel it now, but it always does me good, to get out and absorbed.

I've had some communication regarding jobs, responses to applications, a pre-interview, phone chat with an HR person yesterday.  There seems to be more jobs to apply to, hopefully this momentum keeps up and I score.
