One of the perks of not having to go to the office everyday is the relaxed dressing.  My work had a very casual dress code which I really liked, so while I did dress casually, when I wore jeans which I did a lot, they were my "good" jeans.  But I loved wearing  my skirts and dresses, and different boots; work was more enjoyable for me when I had on an outfit on that I really liked.

Wearing sweats or loungy stuff (daytime pj's) all day, isn't a good strategy for me.  Now, the jeans I put on most mornings are either a 10 year old pair of boy's Levis button fly jeans that are a little too big or woman's Levis, zipper, slight flare, also a little too big and 10 years old.  Then several layers of sweat shirts if I'm staying in.  Socks and Uggs.  I don't like the heat running too much, so I usually have a hat on until the sun, if it's coming, warms the building a bit.

I met a good friend last night for a drink at a lovely old hotel at the tip of the lake near downtown.  The view of the lake there is gorgeous with all the lights, the water, and then the hills.  I wore my good jeans and boots of course.  I wore a filmy sleeveless light top and it felt fantastically decadent to have my skin free.  It was chilly, so I had to put on something else, but it was a light 3 quarter sleeve sweater jacket.

I wear my glasses a lot when I'm home versus my contacts, although putting them in every morning sends my brain a similiar message like when I'm wearing real clothes; "I have things to do and places to go."

My glasses are cute, they're black plastic, small frames.  The perscription is old, but I don't demand too much of them so they're fine.  When I was recovering from the assault, I didn't put my contacts in for weeks and in fact, couldn't wear my glasses for too long for a while either.  But eventually I was wearing my glasses every day and they hurt, I had a dent on the top of the bridge of my nose.  I wear foam ear plugs when I sleep; I discovered I could put one of them under the bridge of the glasses for relief.

My appearance cracks me up frequently now.  I like to braid my hair in 2 braids when it's wet, so it will be wavy when it's dry.  Well, sometimes the braids stay in long after my hair is dry; there's a little lavender foam plug between my nose and glasses and I'm wearing a fleece hat, baggy jeans and 3 shirts.  Simply stunning.
