Mar. 10th, 2010 09:38 pmToday was cold and sunny with not a cloud in the sky. I earned a little time off from several days of tons of writing, which was so nice. My upper middle back thanked me. The painters banging and scraping their ladders against the walls and suddenly appearing in the window were only mildly annoying.
This morning I walked to the store for creme for my coffee, then later I walked around the lake briskly. It felt fantastic to be outside. Towards the end I was keeping pace with a guy in a suit talking on his phone, loudly. I couldn't shake him, I was irritated until I started listening, . He had just finished interviewing and was telling someone all about it.
"Except for the time screw up, I'd say I couldn't have done any better in the interview."
I wonder what the interviewer thought.
I had a nice little happy hour; I met a friend at a cool little wine tasting, we tasted 8 wines and a port. The cellar was funky and pleasant, 2 of the 3 wineries were very good. And it was free to taste. Fabulous. One of the guys is doing a cool food event soon that I may write about it.
That's about it.

Date: 2010-03-11 05:03 pm (UTC)I'm writing for a progressive news site, I live in Oakland, CA. It's a start up, no $$, but it's getting a lot of buzz, it's only 5 months old.
I've always written, but not professionally and this fell into my lap, and now I'm working my ass off to get the most out of it. I'm learning so much, smart engaged people involved, it's really cool.
I forget where you came in, but I was laid off in January, it was expected and I was thrilled to be free. I wanted to take some time and change directions doing what I love, which is writing. I'll have to start temping very soon, but this has all been great.
I'm reinventing, whoohoo!!
