I bought a pretty dress with colors like a butterfly.  I'm wearing it tomorrow night to a mixer.  I have a whole new fun perception of mixers.  Masses of single people, all ages, all types, all wanting to connect.  I want to talk and laugh and come out with some contact info.  It's at a really nice place too.  Then on Sunday, I want to chat with my girlfriends and write in my journal about it.

For some inexplicable reason, I haven't been on my livejournal site for awhile. Mostly just forgot. My life hasn't really had a lot of forward momentum, so nobody missed much, except for me missing out on my friend's entries. Hope the mixer went well. I've had a bad attitude toward them, which I think I'm in the process of adjusting.

Welcome back! I've been wondering what you're up to. As far as I can tell, you're one of the few single women in the 40's groups! I like visiting LJ because it's just so private, for me anyway. I'm trying to post and comment regularly, there's a lot of fun info out there.

Agree completely about mixers, they're awkward, strange, and can be creepy! I think you have to take breaks too. Apparently, many men are regulars at these. hah! I went to last night's by myself and right off met 2 super cool women. We kind of hung out and scoped it out. There were very few men we were interested in. I eventually found one and enjoyed talking with him. It helps me excercise my social female skills too. He texted me tonight and said he'd call later in the week. I'm much more excited about seeing him again, that the one I met last time. We'll see...

It's cool you were able to meet someone you like. I just never seem to meet anyone at those things - except women! I have to say, it's my women friends, both old and new, who have kept me going. We do have to stick together.

Yeah, I found an apartment that I really, really like. I can hardly wait to move.
