Aug. 17th, 2010 09:52 amHere is an interesting and informative article-op-ed piece regarding the Islamic cultural center controversy, it presents quite a different perspective than what's shown on TV.
I don't like to follow religious politics, I just learned last night reading articles and comments through the Coffee Party, that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, is a Sufi. My friend and teacher just sent this article which is quite informative. I'm disappointed with Obama's back pedaling statements but that's not a new emotion.
Jon Stewart has done some great coverage, as always, here's just one link. He's done a lot to promote Burlington Coat Factory, which I guess to some is hallowed ground.

Date: 2010-08-19 08:59 am (UTC)This controversy is one more reminder that I am not a conservative, even though I hold some right leaning views on specific issues. This is a hand wringing drama queen issue of ZERO value .... unless you're a mindless right wing lemming pretending to be patriotic.
Who cares if the 911 survivors are offended? I'm offended they recieved millions of dollars when most victims of terrorism or crime get NOTHING.
I have this rambling post on intolerance that will probably not see the light of day. This mosque story was part of that.
The mere mention of this farce makes me boil. Let them have it and show the world we're better than the 911 thugs. How hard is that to figure out?
