Precious weekend is here. Two days to do it all. I'm definitely ready to take a look at my NaNo novel. I have some plot ideas and I want to work on my characters. I can also divide it and work on sections. I really need to devote time and focus on it. I love that. Have to admit, I miss those hours in the day. That November pressure to write was awesome, I want to get back to it. Of course I also have to do some job searching too. And drag a broom and cloth around or something.

I didn't go out tonight after all, I was so bummed. My friend's mom was in the hospital all day, she seems to be OK, but my friend found out in the afternoon and naturally went there to be with her and her dad. I haven't done anything social in forever it seems, so I was really looking forward to it. Disappointed but there couldn't have been anything other way. So I came home and ate too much, then spoke to that friend for the update and then the woman I went to Burning Man with and am now lying here like a beached whale, typing.

It was beautiful when I walked home. I was in no hurry. The sky was that soulful deep blue as the sun drops lower and lower and  night comes, the mist and clouds are finally lifting. Rumor has it, we will see sun this weekend.

Thanks for le pics of le hood. I like getting visuals on people's surroundings. Maybe that's why I do the occasional pic post. They add a dimension to our writing ..... the thousand word thing.

I have another hood post coming, long in the works, with pics.

I wish I could walk to work.

My pleasure. I love sharing pictures of where I live too.

Walking to work is beyond words fantastic. It's a pretty walk and just the right distance, 15-20 minutes, with several options of where to cross the street. Walking along the lake in the morning is nice, sharing space with the ducks, gulls and geese. It gets your blood and mind going in the morning and clears it and kind of de-bloats you by end of day. I take a 20 to 30 minute walk at lunch too, although 10 minutes does the trick too.

I only have to drive my car about one day a week, that's what I strive for anyway. At least for December!

Like many industrial businesses Monkeytech is not in a great neighborhood. A strip club down the street burned down last year. Walking to work would not be through a park.

English is not always the language of choice in that hood.

Ow! I hope the girls were ok!

Yeah, I'm lucky I live near downtown, if I can get a permanent or long term job there, it would be sooo great! But a few blocks away would be a different story. Our poor cities struggle just like we do. The walking at 5 pm is also good for my "strength" training, there are lots of people out, I'm alert but not frantic, which is good! ;-)

It was! What was really cool is that on Monday when I was walking home, the city workers had just finished stringing the lights and were testing them. So I saw the first light up. It was great. Lights and trees, what is prettier?
