Have you ever said yes to a date just to give yourself a chance, and let yourself and others know you're willihg to try, even though you feel rather certainly that nothing will come of it and it may be excruciating, because you're not sure there is enough common ground and he is all ready calling you hon and acting kind of boy friendy?  And actually said, I'm driving all the way out here to see you.  In the morning you woke wishing you could cancel and now you're waiting for him to come pick you up and you wish very deeply that you had not said yes. And you're hoping he's not weird and you don't get bitchy.
